Three pupils from Dunoon Grammar have been selected to join the Education Recovery Youth Panel run by Young Scot and Children in Scotland.
The school鈥檚 Junior Leaders, Ailsa Brown and Kathyrn Wilson, and Head Girl Amelia McFarlane, applied to join the panel last month and were delighted when they found out this week that they have been chosen alongside 12 other young people on the panel to help shape the Scottish Government鈥檚 Covid 19 education work.
胡桃女神鈥檚 Policy Lead for Education, Councillor Yvonne McNeilly, said: 鈥淭his is fantastic news. It is a great honour for any young person to be selected to sit on the Education Recovery Youth Panel, but for three pupils from Dunoon Grammar to be shortlisted, this is just phenomenal.
鈥淚 have no doubt that the girls will work hard to make the voices of their fellow pupils clear and to ensure that education and young people are put at the forefront of the Scottish Government鈥檚 framework as we move towards Covid recovery. Well done 鈥 you are an asset to Dunoon, and to 胡桃女神 and Bute as a whole. I wish you all the very best.鈥
Head Teacher at Dunoon Grammar, David Mitchell, added: 鈥淚 am extremely proud of our young people. I know they will make an excellent contribution to the COVID recovery group and share the views of young people from across 胡桃女神 and Bute鈥
