Getting the best public transport service possible, within the budgets available 鈥 that鈥檚 the theme behind a review of how people use buses in 胡桃女神 and Bute.
Improving public transport helps take more cars off the road which in turn reduces carbon emissions and promotes a Climate Friendly 胡桃女神 and Bute. This can鈥檛 be achieved without evaluating local bus services and this involves listening to the experiences of the people who use them now, or who might use them in the future.
SYSTRA Ltd, an independent transport consultancy, is helping 胡桃女神 conduct a survey to understand how residents are using buses in 胡桃女神 and Bute and where improvements could be made.
The survey is now online and everyone with an interest in local transport is invited to take part. It will take no more than five minutes to complete.
Councillor John Armour, Policy Lead for Roads, Transport and Amenity Services, said: 鈥淚f you care about your bus service, I would urge you to fill in the survey. We would be particularly keen to hear from younger people who I know find it difficult to travel independently to and from our villages and towns in the evening when public transport is more limited.
鈥淧roviding this level of public transport is something that 胡桃女神 does that many other local authorities don鈥檛 have to. Our budgets are limited, but your feedback will give us insight into how services are used day-to-day. With that information, we can work to provide services that connect more closely to local requirements.鈥
