In line with the seasonal change to CalMac’s ferry timetables, the following changes will be made on Friday 28th March 2025 to bus services in Cowal and Bute. These changes are to ensure connections with ferries are kept, to make improvements to the journey time to both Tighnabruaich Primary School and Kilmodan Primary School, and meet some community requests for additional journeys to Leanach and up North Campbell Road.
Service 473 – Following representation from parents regarding the length of school day once transport is factored in, we have delayed the pick-up up time by up to 5 minutes in the morning. This will allow a slightly shorted school day for pupils on transport. Bus routes and pick-up locations are unaffected.
Service 478 (486) – In line with the above changes on service 473, there are minor amendments to the Service 478 timetable to allow pupils for Kilmodan Primary School a later pick-up time of up to 7 minutes. In addition, Auchenbreck, a pick-up point for some pupils, has been added to the added public timetable as a timing point for greater clarity. Service 478 Schooldays timetable is now aligned with the non-schooldays and Saturday timetable, allowing for a consistent 3 trips a day throughout the week.
Last journey from Service 486 cancelled but merged with last 478 and diverted via Strachur. This is in response to a community request to serve Leanach on this journey.
Service 90/490 - Minor alterations to meet new Service 478 timetable at Rhubodach.
Service 491 – The 0812 school journey from Rothesay, Guildford Square, will operate via The Bush before arriving at Rothesay Joint Campus to assist with school transport capacity.
Service 489 – Schooldays only restriction removed from the early morning journey to Innellan Primary School, so this service runs Monday through to Friday up Wyndham and North Campbell Road, along with a new 1206 from Dunoon to Innellan Primary School to meet a longstanding community request.
